'American Horror Story: Hotel' plot news: Trailer revealed
A trailer has been released to excite fans for the upcoming season of "American Horror Story: Hotel."
The season 5 trailer is titled "Above and Below" featuring dark and twisted scenes, showing Lady Gaga as the Countess. The trailer uses the Rammnstein single "Du Hast," which played while the Countess stepped off a vintage elevator in an elegant dress. As she walks down the hallway, children are seen playing games. While they play with the Countess, the room turns dark and shows a neon leash attached to the children. The trailer sets the mood of absurdity, which is expected in the upcoming season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lady Gaga recently shared details about her character. She said, "The Countess is a very old soul. She's extremely strong. She's been through so much. It's kind of impossible for anything to penetrate her. This show in many ways is about her survival and there is an amazing journey that touches on the mythology of viruses and in what way these afflictions change our lives and bring us together and tear us apart."
The upcoming season of the series is set in Hotel Cortez. While the story takes place at present time, there will be flashbacks that will feature decades such as the 20s. It was reported that the killer Gordon Northcott will play a role in the story's plot. The notorious murderer killed 20 boys in the 1920s. His story is expected to be connected with the show's Halloween Special.
Creator of the series Ryan Murphy revealed that the Halloween Special will feature many killers. He said, "The biggest serial killers of all time all come to the hotel. Gacey. Aileen. [Detective] John Lowe's (Wes Bentley) invited to a devil's night dinner. He thinks someone is pulling a huge prank on him. It's the biggest serial killers of all time in a room with him and he has to figure out who is trying to make him lose his mind."
American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to premiere on FX this Oct. 7.
