'American Horror Story: Hotel' spoilers: Lady Gaga joins cast; Lily Rabe returns
The new season of the smash hit "American Horror Story: Hotel" is a month away from its premiere and more information is reaching the fans as the season looms closer. The series was created by the ingenious Ryan Murphy who is also behind the hit musical series "Glee." The season will revolve around a creepy old hotel and the people who live there.
Creator Ryan Murphy talked about the inspiration behind "Hotel," which was a surveillance video from a hotel that showed a young woman in an elevator that was never seen again. "It is called 'Hotel,' and it's set in a hotel. We deal with a lot of American horrors, [including] addiction," he said. Murphy mentioned that the new season will be set in downtown Los Angeles.
The forthcoming season has a very impressive cast lined up. Singer Lady Gaga will play Elizabeth also known as The Countess, a very rich socialite who has a diabolical plan. She is the owner of the hotel who has three adopted children. She is described as tremendously tough. Actor Matt Bomber will play Donovan, the lover of Elizabeth who will become jealous when she meets the hot young model because he wants to settle down.
Cheyenne Jackson will play Drake, a fashion icon who is a desperate father, as well. He is a designer from New York who wants to begin an atelier inside the hotel. Wes Bentley will play John Lowe, a detective and a husband who is investigating the murders done by the Ten Commandments Killer. Actress Chloe Sevigny will play Alex Lowe, the wife of John who is a doctor and a mother.
Angela Basset will play Ramona Royale, an actress. She had a romantic relationship with the Countess and she will team up with Donovan in order to get revenge. Supermodel actress Naomi Campbell will play Claudia, an editor at Vouge who goes toe-to-toe with Elizabeth.
Actress Kathy Bates will play Iris, the mother of Donovan who works in the hotel, in order to be close to her son. She is described as extremely overprotective. Finn Wittrock will play Tristan Duffy, a male model who catches the eye of the Countess, while Evan Peters will play James March also known as the mysterious Mr. March of room 64. He is the builder and the owner of the hotel back in the 1930s.
Max Greenfield will play Gabriel, an addict who is a Hollywood junkie, while Sarah Paulson will play Sally, another addict. Actor Darren Criss will play Justin, a hipster dude who gets on the bad side of Iris, while Emma Roberts will appear with Peter's character at the end. Actor Denis O'Hare will play Liz Taylor, the movie icon. Actress Lily Rabe will play Aileen Wuornos, the serial killer.
American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere on Oct. 7 on FX.
