'American Housewife' Season 1 Episode 19: Katie's College Friend Brings Fun and Disaster to Charity Event in 'The Polo Match'
An attempt to add a little fun into a festivity may turn into a disaster for Katie (Katy Mixon) and her family in the next episode of "American Housewife."
Katie's neighborhood friend, Doris (Ali Wong) is organizing a charity polo match and she wants Katie and her family to come and join the fun. Wanting to do a little something for her friend, Katie decides to invite her crass college best friend, Billy (Will Sasso), to bring some life and laughter to the occasion. After all, Doris does share Katie's dismissive and sarcastic tastes, so it should be okay, right?
As it turns out, Katie may have bitten off more than she can chew when her friend Billy's crass remarks start grating on her own family. In the episode titled "The Polo Match," the titular American housewife may just find herself in a tough position when the entertainment she has invited to a party turns rogue and starts annoying the people that she cares about.
Whether grating on the Ottos may be intentional or accidental on Billy's part is not made clear in the official synopsis, but it sure looks like it's going to be another fun and wacky episode with something to learn from about family values in the end.
"American Housewife" season 1 episode 19 airs on Tuesday, April 11 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
In other news, series creator and writer Sarah Dunn has just released a novel titled "The Arrangement." Set in a picture-perfect suburb not much different from Westport, the novel features a heroine who, like Katie, feels like an outsider in her new hometown and is married to a genuinely decent man. What does set this novel apart from "American Housewife" is that the couple in it has agreed to have an open marriage for six months with a clear set of rules and no questions asked.
This is Dunn's fourth novel and is published by Little, Brown and Company.
