'American Idol' News: Judges Turned Down a Blind Contestant

Viewers were heartbroken after watching last night's episode of "American Idol," when the judges turned down Mario Bonds, a blind singer from Washington, D.C.

According to Hollywood Life, the 27-year-singer hasn't stopped pursuing his dreams, despite being blind. Bonds sang Natalie Cole's "Inseparable," but despite having a strong voice, the judges found him a little off-key. "American Idol" fans were saddened to see him go home without a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Meanwhile, "American Idol" season 15 episode 5 featured talents who auditioned in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Little Rock, Arkansas. Among those who made impression on the judges and made it through Hollywood are Miranda "Poh" Scott, Amelia Eisenhauer, Joy Dove, and MacKenzie Bourg. Bourg really wowed the judges with his medley performance of songs by all three of the judges. Fans can remember him as well for being one of "The Voice" season 3 contestants.

On the other hand, the two memorable contestants who auditioned last night, but failed, were brothers Andrew and Aaron Birdwell. The website described their performance weird, and Harry Connick Jr. was said to be laughing hard during the audition.

Jenna Renae, Adam Lasher, and Emily Brooke also got the judges' approval in this episode. Both Lasher and Brooke are repeat auditioners from previous season of the show. As previously reported, Renae, Lasher, and Brooke are all rumored to have made it to the Top 24 of "American Idol" season 15. Fans wonder if the winner this year will come from these three contestants.

Several websites are now making bold predictions on who will win this farewell season, and TV Line said that Stephany Negrete is among the heavy contenders for the title. Her audition will be among the final auditions of this season, and the website said that she has a winning personality, as well as great vocal horsepower and impressive control. The Hollywood round will soon follow, and fans are definitely looking forward to see her perform next week.
