'American Idol' News: Season 8 Winner Kris Allen Will Release New Album
"American Idol" season 8 winner, Kris Allen, will be releasing his fourth studio album, and fans are excited to hear what the former Idol alum brings this time.
According to Billboard, the 30-year-old singer will be releasing new songs, which he dubbed as his "most personal work to date" soon. The website said that Allen doubled his effort in his new record and even prepared over 70 songs for this album. "I felt like I needed to sift through my life and try to figure out what really I wanted to say on this album," Allen, who is native to Jacksonville, Arkansas, said.
He added he is really proud of what he has done for this new album and is very excited for his fans to hear his music. "I think they're really going to love it," he said. Allen's album, which is titled "Letting You In," will be released on March 18, and his fans are already looking forward to buy his album.
Meanwhile, Allen gave his support to "Idol" hopefuls during the auditions this final season of "American Idol," which currently airs on Fox. During last night's episode, viewers saw contestants from Denver, Colorado, and Little Rock, Arkansas tried their best to get a golden ticket to Hollywood.
According to Entertainment Weekly, James Grey Dawson, also known as James the VIII, and Amber Lynn were among those who shined in last episode. Chris Johnson, Mary Williams, Terrian, Thomas Stringfellow, and show stealer, Tank, all made it through to the next round, while Emily Wears, Ethan Kuntz, Xavier Soller, and LeAnn "Blue" McIsaac failed to impress the judges, Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr., and Jennifer Lopez.
The last audition was from Elvie Shane, who shared that he was once addicted to drugs but has now reformed. He also sang "House of the Rising Sun," just like Gianna Isabella's performance on yesterday's audition. The judges were impressed and gave him a golden ticket.
