'American Idol' Season 15 News: Several Artists Who Impressed Judges During Auditions Crumbled in Hollywood
It was the first night of Hollywood Week on "American Idol" season 15, and many viewers were disappointed to see some singers who excelled during the auditions crumble in Hollywood.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, about half of those who made it to Hollywood were eliminated last night. The night started with judge Keith Urban giving pep talk to the contestants and said, "You guys are the best of the best, and that's why you're here."
The first solo round of the week started, and the singers were grouped into 10, and have once chance to prove that they should not be eliminated. Among those who fist made the cut were Jordan Sasseer, Dalton Rapattoni, Jaci Butler, Jenn Blosil, Olivia Rox, and Thomas Stringfellow.
The next group has Jessica Cabral, who is originally from Brazil; Sonika Vaid, the first contestant during the auditions that the judges saw winning; and Melanie Tierce, who made Keith Urban cry during her audition. Unfortunately, Tierce did not survive the round, but Cabral and Vaid moved on to the Group Performance round.
La'Porsha Renae impressed the judges with her performance, and will continue on, as well as Daniel Farmer, Manny Torres, Lee Jean, Shelbie Z, Jeneve Rose Mitchell, Michelle Marie, Gianna Isabella, and Tristan McIntosh. Among the last singers who made it through are Trent Harmon, Miranda "Poh" Scott, and Emily Brooke.
Sadly, cancer survivor Melany Huber did not make it through the next round, followed by Kyrsti Jewel, Kerry Courtney, Brooke Sample, Usen Isong, Reanna Molinaro, Ethan Kuntz, and Jake Dillon.
In other news, Kelly Clarkson will be gracing the "American Idol" stage again this season, but this time, she'll be a judge during the first live show of the farewell season, which will happen on Feb. 25. According to The Boot, the very first winner of the reality competition will also perform on the show, which made fans super excited. Other "Idol" winners and former contestants will also be appearing this season, and they are Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Scotty McCreery, Nick Fradiani, and Lauren Alaina.
