'America's Got Talent' Season 12 News: Darci Lynne Farmer Predicted as Grand Winner
The top 10 finalists of the 12th season of "America's Got Talent" will battle it out to secure the $1 million prize in the grand finals set for this Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to IB Times, 13-year-old singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and 10-year-old singer Angelica Hale are the clear frontrunners of the competition.
When Darci Lynne first auditioned, she got Mel B's golden buzzer, with the Spice Girl saying it was likely she would make it through to the finale. Simon Cowell was also a huge fan of the blonde girl.
Angela, on the other hand, is also a fan favorite. She received Chris Hardwick's golden buzzer, while Heidi Klum previously mentioned that the brunette was her favorite from the bunch.
While Darci Lynne and Angelica are predicted to occupy the top two spots, another young singer, Evie Clair, also has a strong following. Evie's story has touched the hearts of many viewers. And when she sings, she dedicates her performances to the father she lost to colon cancer. There is also the tandem of Sara and Hero, a dog act which also has a massive fanbase.
The other finalists are comedian Preacher Lawson, singers Chase Goehring, Mandy Harvey and Kechi Okwuchi and dance groups Light Balance and Diavolo. All will be competing in the live performance on Tuesday, while the results will be revealed the following day.
In a survey conducted by Golden Derby, Darci Lynne seems to be leading. As of this writing, almost 58 percent of the respondents voted for her, while about 20 percent chose Angela. Evie ranked third, while the rest of the finalists have almost the same number of votes. All of them hope to secure the same fate as last year's winner, Grace Vanderwaal. After bagging the title and the cash prize, Grace has released an extended play record only three months after her win. She is set to launch her full-length album on Nov. 3.
"America's Got Talent" season 12's live show will air this Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC. Its live results finale will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20, on the same timeslot.
