Anderson Silva News: Former UFC champion could face Vitor Belfort in rematch, 'The Spider' sends encouragement to Ronda Rousey

Former long-time UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva could be booked for a rematch against fellow Brazilian MMA veteran Vitor Belfort.

In a report by Bloody Elbow, UFC president Dana White was speaking with UFC president Dana White on the plane on their way home back from Australia for the past weekend's UFC 193 event.

When brought up, White says he actually welcomes the idea of a rematch between the two former UFC champions.

"I know. I don't disagree," White said. "We're working on it." The two fighters already fought each other at UFC 126 in February 2011. "The Spider" ended the fight at the 3:25 mark of the first round with a front kick to Belfort's face.

Silva also shared his thoughts on the recently concluded main event bout between Ronda Rousey and newly crowned champion Holly Holm. "The Preacher's Daughter" ended "Rowdy's" two-year reign as UFC champion through a second round knock out via head kick.

Like Rousey, Silva was a once-dominant champion who was dethroned by a non-hyped yet highly skilled opponent in Chris Weidman. Which was why he also gave his words of encouragement to the former UFC 135-pound queen.

"Our biggest glory doesnt lives in the fact of never fall down, But In the fact of we always stand up after each fall," Silva wrote through an Instagram post. "With determination, You will over come this bad time. I know very well how It is. "You are a great athlete and transcend the MMA world. My kids love You. So, dont forget: To fall Makes us stronger To stand up. You deserve the best of this world."

Silva went on to remind Rousey how many of the other great athletes also had to taste defeat at some point in their careers.

"Nobody is forever. All of us lost And To lose make us stronger," he continued. "So, I wish You peace And lots of patience. Hold this experience with intelligence And dont blame yourself. You had a big lesson Of this Sport."
