Android 4.4, KitKat Update Begins Rolling Out Again for Droid Maxx, Mini and Ultra
The Android 4.4, KitKat update began rolling out for the Droid Maxx, Mini and Ultra models once again this week.
Verizon announced that the software would be arriving on the three devices starting in mid-Decemeber, however, soon after the rollout the company stopped pushing out the software due to users reporting that their phones were being bricked.
Those problems now appear to have been corrected as the Android 4.4 is once again rolling out for the smartphones.

The Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx were released on Verizon last year.
The Droid Ultra measures in at 7.18mm. Other specifications on the smartphone include a 5-inch 720p HD OLED display, 24 percent faster CPU, 100 percent faster GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 10-megapixel rear camera with f2.4 lens with 1080p video recording, 4G LTE, and a 2130mAh battery.
The device also features Motorola's X8 Mobile Computing System, which is actually an eight-core unit that includes a dual-core processor, a quad-core GPU, a single-core contextual computing processor, and a single-core natural language processor.
The Droid Maxx is similar to the Droid Razr Maxx line as it possesses a more powerful battery than the rest of the handsets announced earlier this week. The smartphone comes with a 3,500mAh pack that is supposed to provide users with 48 hours of sustained usage. The rest of its specs are almost identical to the Droid Ultra.
The Droid Mini and Droid Maxx also feature the new eight-core X8 platform along with touchless gesture control support and an active display that lights up only a portion of the panel to display notifications.
The Droid Mini features a smaller screen and body and costs $99. The Maxx costs $299 on contract.
