Android 7.0 Nougat: Samsung Galaxy S6 Units in Europe, Canada May Soon Receive OS Update

Owners of Galaxy S6 units in the U.S. still waiting to hear about when they may receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update

Owners of Samsung's Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ have been waiting for quite a while now for the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system update to be made available for them, and there are some new developments related to this.

First off, Telus subscribers in Canada may soon be able to update their Galaxy S6 smartphones.

A new update schedule containing the names of different devices was recently posted on the Telus forums, and among those listed were the S6, S6 Edge and the S6 Edge+.

According to the list, all three devices are set to receive the Nougat update sometime in late April, but that remains a target release window for now.

It looks like device owners will have to wait a bit more before they can find out exactly when the S6 version of the Nougat update will be released by Telus.

While some Samsung smartphone owners in Canada will have to stay on standby for at least a few more weeks, it appears as though some folks who have the S6 Edge+ in Europe may already be able to download the Android 7.0 Nougat update right now.

According to a recent report from The Android Soul, more people who have the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Europe can now get the Nougat OS as an over-the-air update.

As for those who own the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy units in the United States, it is still not clear exactly when Nougat may be made available to them.

One of the major carriers in the U.S., T-Mobile, has a support site detailing when the OS update may be released for particular smartphones. According to the site, Nougat is still in the "Manufacturer Development" stage for those Galaxy S6 units.

More news about when the Android 7.0 Nougat update may be released for more Samsung Galaxy devices should be made available in the near future.
