Android 7.0 Nougat OS Update Now Available for AT&T's Galaxy S7 Active

Learn more about which other Samsung Galaxy devices may receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update

The Android 7.0 Nougat operating system update has made its way to yet another Samsung device, and this time around, it's the Galaxy S7 Active.

To be a little more specific, AT&T subscribers who also happen to have the S7 Active are the ones who can now download the OS upgrade.

As always, device owners are urged to do a few things before they move ahead with downloading the new OS. They first need to make sure that they have a stable internet connection prior to beginning the downloading process, and they may want to back up their files as well, though updating to Nougat is not expected to have any adverse effect on those.

The update also comes in at a sizable 1.58GB, so some Galaxy S7 Active users may need to free up some space before they can get the update.

Once the update has been successfully downloaded, device owners can try out some of the new features that come with the Nougat update, and there are some security upgrades included that should help the S7 Active too.

While some Galaxy S7 Active owners can already download the Android 7.0 Nougat update, with more likely set to join them soon, the same can't be said for holders of some older Samsung Galaxy devices.

Notably, the official Samsung UK Twitter account just revealed recently that the update "has been delayed" for the S6 and the S6 Edge. When asked later on if there was a set date for when the S6 may get the Nougat update, Samsung UK indicated that they still have no more new details to share about the matter at this time.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ as well as the Note 5 are also among the other Samsung devices expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update, but again, exact dates for when this downloadable may be made available for the aforementioned devices have not been shared just yet.
