Android 7.0 Nougat Rollout Continues, OS Update Now Also Available for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Courtesy of Sprint

Android 7.0 Nougat also available for the Galaxy S7 variants via AT&T and T-Mobile

The Android 7.0 Nougat update has now been made available for even more Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge units, with Sprint now making the operating system update available to their subscribers.

According to Sprint's official support site, the update was released for both Samsung devices fairly recently, on the 22nd to be more specific, so there may still be subscribers who have not downloaded it yet.

In addition to Sprint, both T-Mobile and AT&T have also made the Nougat update available to their subscribers who own either the Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge.

The support site for AT&T indicates that the update was officially released on Feb. 17, while the one for T-Mobile lists a Feb. 20 release date.

Just as with previously released OS updates, device owners are advised to do a few things prior to them trying to download the Android 7.0 Nougat update.

Per T-Mobile, subscribers are advised to make sure that they have a stable internet connection before proceeding with the download and that the device being updated also has more than half of its battery life remaining. Device owners may also need to create some space to accommodate the update.

AT&T also urges subscribers to back up their files prior to updating as a precautionary measure, though downloading the Nougat OS is not expected to affect either the settings or the data.

Once device owners are able to download the Nougat update either for the Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge, they can access some new features.

Additional features include the new Performance Mode that users can try out in order to optimize the settings of their devices for specific purposes.

The Multi-window functionality has also been updated, and the download speed for apps has been improved as well, according to Samsung.

More news about the Android 7.0 Nougat update and when it may make its way to more devices should be made available soon.
