Android 7.0 Nougat Update Making Its Way to Galaxy S6, S6 Edge Devices Across Europe

Still unclear when Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners in the U.S. may be able to download the Android 7.0 Nougat update

The Android 7.0 Nougat update rollout has started up yet again, with owners of some older Samsung Galaxy smartphones serving as the beneficiaries of this latest release.

Specifically, it appears that the owners of the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge are the ones who can now download this operating system update for their devices.

According to a recent report from Sam Mobile, Vodafone has started to make this OS update available in some European countries including Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, Ireland and also in the United Kingdom.

Some S6 and S6 Edge owners in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary and Turkey may also be able to get this OS update now.

Some folks in Switzerland may also be able to get the Nougat update now courtesy of Swisscom.

Unfortunately, there's still no clear indicator when Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners in the U.S. may also be given the opportunity to install the Android 7.0 Nougat OS for their smartphones.

Still, that the Nougat rollout for S6 devices has already started in Europe has to be a good sign for the folks in the U.S. hoping they will not have to wait that much longer to gain access to this downloadable as well.

According to an earlier report from Android Authority, a leaked manual detailing what the Nougat update can do for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge hinted that many of the features released for the S7 units will also be made accessible for the older devices.

Some camera and video features released for the S7 devices may not be coming to the S6 units, though those may be among the most notable omissions.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 are also expected to be updated to Nougat sometime soon, though owners of those devices may have to keep waiting for a while longer.

More news about when the Android 7.0 Nougat update may be released for more Samsung Galaxy devices should be made available in the near future.
