Angelina Jolie-Pitt Update: Actress as President of Honorary Committee at Cambodian Film Festival
Angelina Jolie-Pitt has been tapped to become the president of the honorary committee of the Cambodia International Film Festival.
"Cambodia's rich history, long culture and talented people mean it has a huge amount to offer the region and the world," Jolie Pitt said in a statement issued Tuesday by the festival. "I'm proud to support the Cambodia International Film Festival and Cambodia as a home for vibrant and innovative filmmaking."
Cedric Eloy, head of the Cambodian Film Commission and festival adviser, said the Hollywood actress would not only provide moral support but also help "bring attention to the rebirth of the Cambodian film industry."

The festival will run from Dec. 4 to 10 in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh. It is currently screening 130 films from 34 countries.
Jolie-Pitt is currently in Cambodia for her latest movie, "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers." The film is an adaptation of author and activist Luong Ung's memoir of the same name published in 2000.
The movie, as does the book on which it was based, recounts the personal experiences of Ung during the Khmer Rouge regime. During this time, filmmakers, writers, artists, and other educated people, numbering to more than 1.7 million, were executed.
The film will be released in Netflix late next year. Jolie-Pitt, who has previously directed "Unbroken" and "By the Sea," co-writes and directs this Cambodian-centric film.
After the Netflix flick, Jolie-Pitt will proceed to directing another film based on a true story, reports The Wall Street Journal. Titled "Africa," the movie will revolve around efforts against illegal animal trade in the continent
The Hollywood Reporter also previously reported on a possible movie role for the actress-director. She could play the lead role in Universal's "Bride of Frankenstein." This rumour awaits confirmation.
