Anna Faris Reveals her Sexual Harrassment Story
"Mom" star Anna Faris is the latest to celebrity to open up about her experiences with sexual advances in Hollywood.
In an episode of her "Unqualified" podcast, Faris revealed her own sexual harassment story. She was taken advantage of by a director on a movie set, she revealed.
"I was doing a scene where I was on a ladder and I was supposed to be taking books off a shelf and he slapped my ass in front of the crew so hard," said Faris. "And all I could do was giggle."
She recalled looking around at the rest of the crew members and convinced herself how it was not a big deal. She said she mustered the courage to giggle, to brush it off. But that experience made her feel saw. She said it would never have happened if the lead was male.
Faris also remembered how the same director told her agent that she was hired for the part because she had great legs. That, according to the actress, informed her of her experience with the project. She remembered thinking how the male lead could not have been hired because he also had awesome legs and somehow she was cast for the role not for her talent but for having decent body parts.
Along with "Midnight, Texas" star Arielle Kebbel, Faris talked about the widespread problem of abuse in the workplace.
Faris' book titled "Unqualified" is now out and available for purchase.
