Another OnePlus Smartphone is Coming Before End 2015

If people cannot get enough of OnePlus phones this year, they may very well get their wish by the holiday season. The company behind the OnePlus smartphones will be introducing another OnePlus device before the end of the year.

The company's co-founder Carl Pei revealed the news recently.

"There's going to be a second phone this year, before the end of the year. Hopefully for Christmas," he told USA Today. When asked about what kind of phone it will be, he only said that it "may or may not be (higher specs than the OnePlus 2)" and that it would be "amazing."

OnePlus recently launched the successor of the OnePlus, called the OnePlus 2. The new phone is dubbed as the "flagship killer" because of its high-end specifications that is comparable to most high-end flagship phones and its very affordable price. The company also developed an Android 5.1-based OS called OxygenOS, which is what its smartphones run on.

Several rumors that are circulating as to what the company is cooking up. One of these is the possibility that there may be a smaller, mid-range smartphone that is under development, which may be called the OnePlus Mini. As a mid-range device, it will definitely have lower specs than that of the OnePlus 2.

During the interview, Pei was also asked about other areas that the company would want to go into. When asked about other types of mobile devices, he simply said that they want to work "in tandem with everyone as partners." The report cited that this may mean that they are looking at the tablet and even wearable technology arena.

The company's first handset, the OnePlus One sold over a million units, and the company hopes that OnePlus 2 will fare better. It definitely makes sense for the company to release another phone and strike while the iron is hot.
