'Ant-Man and the Wasp' News, Release Date: New Set Photo Details Evangeline Lily's Full Suit

As production for "Ant-Man and the Wasp" goes in full swing, new images from the upcoming film continue to surface. Earlier this week, a new set photo from the film was revealed, offering fans a closer glimpse at Wasp's costume, particularly her helmet.

Although a previous teaser photo for the upcoming superhero film already gave fans a first peek at Evangeline Lily's suit as the Wasp a.k.a. Hope Van Dyne, the photo that made its way online recently offers a more detailed look at her full costume. The new image surfaced just a few days after photos of what seemed to be a battle between Wasp and Ghost emerged, featuring the new character played by Hannah John-Karmen.

The new photo of Lily in her full suit as wasp is by far the best close-up look of her costume in the upcoming film. The picture features a new helmet on top of her brown, gold and black suit. It emerged on Reddit earlier this week, showing the actress coming out of her trailer donning her full suit. By the looks of it, she was still filming the same battle scene with Ghost that was featured in the photos that emerged a few days ago.

If there is one takeaway from the new photo, it is that Lily's costume in the upcoming film will be rather different from the design of the original retro Wasp suit, to be donned by actress Michelle Pfieffer. Pfieffer will be playing Janet Van Dyne, mother to Hope.

Previously, it was reported that the Wasp would not be the only one getting a new costume soon, as Scott (Paul Rudd) supposedly would also get his own suit upgrade.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" premieres on July 6, 2018.
