'Ant-Man and the Wasp': Michael Peña's Luis Will Continue to Spread Laughter in Sequel

One of the best characteristics of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films is the fact that they are able to inject humor in every possible form without taking away the impact. Such is also true for "Ant-Man," and fans will be happy to know that Michael Peña is reprising his role in the sequel to "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

In an interview with LRM, Peña has finally confirmed his involvement in the second installment. "So, I'm doing 'Extinction' next, that's a Universal movie. And then I'm doing 'Ant-Man Part 2,'" he said.

It can be recalled that Marvel fans were concerned after his previous interview with Collider, in which he expressed uncertainty about him returning for the sequel. "No, I haven't gotten the phone call yet," he said. "I don't know if I'm going to get the phone call. Who knows?"

Peña plays the role of Luis, Scott's (Paul Rudd) fast-talking Mexican friend who narrates everything in full detail to the point that even unnecessary stuff is included. His funny depiction of the character is arguably one of the most-loved in the film, and so it is with a sigh of relief that fans now know he's going to be there.

As far as filming is concerned, My Entertainment world has learned that the movie will enter the start of production by July 6 this year. At this time, it will be working under the guise of "Cherry Blue" probably to keep things under the wraps until they are ready, Production Weekly has learned. So, for those near Atlanta, the name should be a sign that the movie is filming just around the corner.

Little is known about the plot for the upcoming sequel, but one can safely bet that this is the time that Hope (Evangeline Lilly) will be donning the Wasp suit, something that her mother used to wear. It will be interesting to see how she and Ant-Man work together when "Ant-Man and the Wasp" arrives in cinemas on July 6, 2018.
