Apple 9.7-Inch iPad Pro Price Revealed, Expected to Come With Same Specs as 12.9-Inch Version

Those who are looking forward to purchasing the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be able to get it soon as Apple releases it, possibly as soon as this month. But those who are interested to pick up one will have to take note that the device will be more expensive than previous models.

Gadgets 360 reported that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is expected to be more expensive than the iPad Air 2. The tablet will have a base price of $599 and it will be a 9.7-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi only model. Its internal storage space capacity is 32 GB and there is also a 128 GB model available that will come with an LTE connectivity. It's expected to be priced even higher.

There are speculations saying that the upcoming iPad Pro will be replacing the iPad Air 2. However, there are reports that pointed out that the 9.7-inch variant will not be considered as the substitute to the Air 2. Design and Trend noted the Air 2 will be the mid-ranger in the company's current tablet offering instead. But a possibility of the Air 2 getting discontinued is not impossible though.

As for the other specs of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Geeky Gadgets reported that the device will have a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels. It's also said to be equipped under the hood with the Apple A9X processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. Moreover, the tablet is said to have a new 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

International Business Times also reported that the 9-7-inch iPad Pro is being simply pointed out as the smaller variant of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro since it is said to be equipped with the similar specs. Thus, the upcoming smaller variant is expected to come with support for Smart Connecter and Apple Pencil stylus just like the one found in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. These accessories are sold separately though, with the former priced at $169 and the latter priced at $99.
