Apple Confirms WWDC 2016 Schedule

The 27th annual Worldwide Developers Conference is coming in a few months, and Apple has confirmed the schedule and other details. The WWDC 2016 starts Monday, June 13, to Friday, June 17, 2016 in San Francisco.

The schedule was initially leaked by Siri, as spotted by 9to5Mac, and now the company has officially confirmed it. Monday's events include a keynote address, which is a change from previous years. This means that conference sessions for the rest of the week will be at Moscone West. Apple previously had the keynote address at Moscone West while the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium was the venue for the conference sessions. The annual bash will also be at the auditorium.

Apple also promises "exciting reveals" on Monday, as well as honoring developers at the Apple Design Awards later in the day. Meanwhile, the rest of the week will feature presentations of the company's new tech, labs, and consultations with appearances from guest speakers.

Developers can apply for tickets through developer.apple.com/wwdc/register. As usual, the company will make use of a lottery process which will pick attendees randomly. Tickets cost $1,599. Registration ends on Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. PDT. Apple will inform those who joined of their status by Monday, April 25 at 5 p.m. PDT.

"With four innovative operating systems and a new, intuitive programming language powering over 1 billion devices worldwide, there has never been a more exciting time to bring our developer community together," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. We can't wait for everyone to join us — in San Francisco or through the live stream."

With the schedule announced, expect to hear speculations on what to expect at this year's WWDC. Last year brought Apple Music and updates to iOS and OS X.
