Apple iOS 10.2 and 10.3 Beta Jailbreak Updates: Hackers May Have to Give Up as 10.3 Arrives
Jailbreaking has been a rather illegal yet enticing way for Apple smartphone owners to get applications and functionalities that are rather impossible to achieve via the App store. Given the recent progress, however, it looks like the jailbreaking scene may be coming to a sad end.
According to Redmond Pie, hacking the upcoming iOS 10.3 could prove to be a close to impossible feat even for the most talented of jailbreakers. The problem lies with Apple's new File System APFS, which makes it very difficult to exploit the IPA (iOS Application Archive) files. Even downgrading to previous firmware won't work anymore, making the coming of a possible new jailbreak close to bleak.
It can be recalled that the famed jailbreaker Luca Todesco has released a jailbreak tool for iOS 10.2, but the community has found a lot of bugs in the application, rendering it futile. This being said, Todesco continues to work on it until it is perfected, and now that the 10.3 is already in beta, it looks like the tech giant has the upper hand in the battle against hackers.

Todesco has tweeted that he won't be doing any public research anymore for 10.2.1, but that doesn't mean he'll stop trying to crack the hard wall that the community is facing. This hiatus may only be a scapegoat to the fact that it's getting harder than ever to penetrate Apple's firmware.
Meanwhile, the Chinese jailbreak team Pangu has promised to release a viable 10.2 tool, yet it has been quite some time since they advised everyone about such delay. With nothing to show, many are speculating that they also met a dead end, and that they are on the same boat as Todesco.
It appears the Cupertino giant is making very aggressive actions to quash the jailbreaking scene. No one knows for sure if a functional jailbreak tool will soon come out, but for now Apple is putting the jailbreakers to shame.
