Apple iPhone 7 vs Huawei P9 Camera Review and Comparison: Which Takes Better Photos?
The battle on which camera is better between the iPhone 7 and Huawei P9 still rages on, mere months before the release of the two companies' next flagship phones.
Huawei recently unveiled its latest smartphone, the P10, during the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. The Chinese telecommunications equipment company is expected to release the mobile device to the mass market mid-April. Apple, on the other hand, is reportedly busy with the preparations of the launch of the next batch of iPhones. The California-based company is said to be releasing three devices this year alone – the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7 Plus and the next flagship, the iPhone 8.
The iPhone 7 and P9 are currently part of the top-tier of phones with revolutionary cameras. Based on the gadget's overall performance, Phone Arena rates Apple's device 9.3 out of 10, with the user rating hitting a 7.8 score. The P9, on the other hand, has a higher user rating of 9.3, but a lower grade of 7.5 from the website.
Both of the mobile phone's main cameras are 12 megapixels, but the iPhone 7 has a bigger aperture hole at F1.8, compared to P9's F2.2. As any camera enthusiast will explain, a camera with a bigger aperture hole will produce better images because the sensor can gather more light.
When it comes to the camera's flash, the iPhone 7 contains quad LED, while the P9 has dual LED. Both hardware's features include autofocus and a back-illuminated sensor, but the iPhone 7 is a little advanced with its sapphire crystal lens cover and optical image stabilization. Apple users also like that it has both video calling and sharing.
The P9 camera setting, on the other hand, offers more options to users, with its ISO control, white balance presets and shutter speed control. The iPhone 7 front camera has 7MP, while the P9 has 8MP. The huge difference lies in the video resolutions, though. According to Uber Gizmo, Apple's secondary camera has a higher resolution of 1080p/30fps, while Huawei's only has 720p/30fps.
