Apple iPhone X vs. iPhone 8 Specs Comparison: Similar Camera Specs, Different Battery Sizes
Apple's latest flagship smartphones, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, have recently landed on store shelves. However, with iPhone X also coming out soon, is it worth the buy or should fans wait a few weeks more?
The tech giant is now selling, not one, but two types of iPhones with big screens — the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, with 5.5-inch and 5.8-inch displays, respectively. Sporting two very different designs, they may look like two entirely different phones. However, they also have several similarities that would make users think twice about buying the more expensive model.
In this social media age, it is important for many people to have a smartphone that takes high-quality photos. The good thing is that the camera specs for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X are the same, with a 7-megapixel front camera that can record 1080p HD video and a 12-megapixel wide-angle telephoto dual lens rear camera.

In terms of battery size though, BGR reports that a source from China revealed that the iPhone X has a bigger one than of the iPhone 8 Plus.
While the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have 1,821 and 2,691 mAh batteries, respectively, the iPhone X is said to have 2,715 mAh battery. This was allegedly confirmed by Chinese Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) and relayed by tech reporter Steve H. on Twitter.
The leak also revealed that the upcoming smartphone will have 3 GB of RAM.
Also, while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM, just like their predecessors, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the batteries of both devices are reportedly smaller than the previous releases.
Despite this, according to Fortune, getting an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus might be a better decision than going for the more expensive iPhone X. A review on the website says that the former sports the same processor as the latter, which is the A11 Bionic, and that both devices run on the same iOS 11 software.
Considering the price difference, with iPhone 8 being a lot cheaper than iPhone X, the latter may not be as grand of an upgrade as people would think.
