Apple iPhone X vs. Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs, Price Review: Which Handset Is Better?
After months of being shrouded in secrecy, Apple's newest flagship phone is finally here. The iPhone X is a game changer for the technology giant, sporting a completely new design and a lot new features and specs to boot. The new phone is expected to directly compete with Samsung's most recent outing, the Samsung Galaxy S8, the first impressive smartphone to launch this year.
Both the iPhone X and Galaxy S8 have massive screens and impressive features, but it takes a closer look at them to know which should be dubbed as this year's best phone.
When it comes to design, both handsets feature a glass back, as well as almost zero bezel around their screens. The only noticeable difference between the two is that while Galaxy S8's display curves around its edges, the iPhone X's does not. That does not make Apple's new phone any less durable, because the iPhone X is touted to be "water-and-dust resistant to a microscopic level." Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8 is IP68-certified, which means that the handset can survive even after being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
The iPhone X sports Apple's newest six-core A11 Bionic chipset, the technology giant's fastest mobile chipset ever launched. While Apple has yet to confirm how much RAM the new phone has, rumors say it that it will have 3GB. On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 features an octa-core chipset and 4GB of RAM.
Although the Galaxy S8's figures look larger than the iPhone X's when it comes to its operating system, Apple's new phone will never fail to impress when it comes to their capacity. While both phones are powerful, the difference lies in the storage they have. Galaxy S8 only has 64GB of memory, while the iPhone X offers both 64GB and 256GB storage options.
The iPhone X also boasts of its 12MP camera, which features new skills that are not present in the iPhone 7 Plus and the Galaxy S8. It has optical image stabilization on both of its lenses, and its video is capable of 4K shooting.
All things considered, both the iPhone X and Galaxy S8 are handsets to vie for. Currently, the iPhone X can be bought for $999 to $1,149, depending on the storage, while the Galaxy S8 comes with a price tag of $725.
