Apple News: iOS 11.1 Fix For Auto-Correct Bug; Tech Giant Rushing To Release Next Update
Apple's iOS 11 has been causing battery and storage problems since it was released. Recent reports have revealed that the tech giant has acknowledged a bug in the most recent update, the iOS 11.1, which users have found annoying since autocorrect the letter "i" to "A" with a symbol.
According to a statement released on Apple's support site, the tech giant has proposed a solution, that many fans are claiming to be a mere band-aid remedy to the many problems of the iOS 11. Regardless, the tech giant has encouraged users of the iOS 11.1 to set up the text replacement for the letter "i." To do this, users can head over to Settings, select General, find Keyboard, and tap on Replacement. Look for the plus sign, which allows users to set up the text replacement. For Phrase, type an upper-case "I." Meanwhile, for the Shortcut, type a lower-case "i."
The iOS 11.1 update introduced 70 new emojis, as well as included a lot of bug fixes and improvements, which the operating system direly needs. Though it was also supposed to address the battery life problem that users are experiencing, Forbes has reported that there is little to no difference as experienced by the users.
Furthermore, it seems that the scope of the problem has also widened to include new devices. Previously, the battery life problem of the iOS 11 only affected 2016 iPhones. Currently, it seems that the problems of the iOS 11 have also started to affect the newer iPad line, as well as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. As a result, more users have began to reach out to Apple.
Experts generally agree that Apple users might want to wait for the next update. Currently, Apple is rushing through the development of iOS 11.2, as they have released the beta for the developers. Once the iOS 11.2 becomes available for download, this would be the sixth update to be released since the iOS 11 arrived in September.
