Apple TV 4K Specs, Features and Price News: New Device To Be Powered By Triple-Core A10X Fusion Chipset
Since it was announced, there has been huge hype surrounding Apple's 4K TV. The company is expected to unveil the new Apple TV on Sept. 12, alongside the unveiling of the new iPhone X.
For the past several months, details about the possible features and specs of the upcoming Apple TV have made their way online. Although the company has yet to confirm any of these reports, members of the technology community believe that the new Apple 4K TV will come with high-technology features.
The Apple 4K TV is said to be powered by the newest line of the company's CPUs, the triple-core A10X Fusion chipset. This processing system is exactly the same as the ones found in Apple's newest versions of the iPad Pro, which allow Apple devices to handle even 4K UHD streams very smoothly.
When it comes to its memory, the Apple 4K TV is said to have a 3GB RAM. It will also support high dynamic range - not only the commonly used HDR10 format but also the less popular ones, such as the Dolby Vision standard.
After technology blogger Steve Troughtonsmith revealed on Twitter that the upcoming Apple TV 4K would have a three-core A10 Fusion CPU and 3GB of RAM. He also mentioned that the device would also require an internet connectivity speed of at least 15mbps for effective 4K video streaming.
The Apple TV 4K will also reportedly feature built-in streaming media apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, as well as iTunes. Since the upcoming device is expected to sport 4K UHD content streams at 60fps, the Apple TV 4K is expected to have its own motion handling technology for better frame rate interpolation.
As of this writing, Apple is still selling its 2015 Apple TV which comes with an A8 processor, 2GB of RAM and 1080p video features. The technology giant has yet to announce how much the new device will cost. However, experts suggested that considering its features, technology enthusiasts should not expect it to come cheap.
