Apple Watch News: Pre-Order Prices and April Pre-Order Date Released
The Apple Watch is scheduled to be released to the public on April 24, but Apple has announced pre-orders can be made starting April 10.
Since its launch last March 9 in Apple's "Spring Forward" event in San Francisco, Apple has been preparing for the new device's market release and has just announced pre-orders will be accepted beginning April 10, with a price range from $350 to $17,000, depending on the variant.
Compatible with iPhone devices, the Apple Watch alerts users with real-time social media updates, make calls, enable purchases using Apple Pay, and engage Siri's services. It also features fitness tracking software and other health-oriented apps.
The pre-order price for the Apple Watch starts at $350 for the entry-level Sports variant, and up to $17,000 for the wearable's 18-karat gold edition. In Europe, the Apple Watch will be going for £299 up to £13,500, and in Australia between AU$499 to AU$24,000.
The Apple Watch is expected to be released in India's market by June this year, with analysts predicting its pre-order costs could run up to Rs 30,000.
The watch's premium gold model has caused a stir among Apple loyalists who look to be ready to hand over the hefty price tag to own the 18K gold edition. It is predicted the company will have a harder time unloading its lower end aluminum Sports version, with the market for versatile and lower priced smartwatches already dominated by rivals like Samsung, LG, Pebble, and Motorala.
The middle-of-the-road variant, Collection, is made from stainless steel and comes with a choice of straps.
It is still the early days to predict whether the Apple Watch will be a hit or a failure. However, earnings of the three different device models will determine which edition will score high in the number of units sold.
