'Aquaman' Release Date, Plot News: Jason Momoa Spoils Ending
"Aquaman" star Jason Momoa's solo movie won't hit theaters until December 2018. The actor, however, just spoiled the ending of his film in a recent interview.
Momoa was talking to SFX Magazine about "Justice League" and "Aquaman" when he detailed what will happen to his DC character. He revealed that Arthur Curry/Aquaman won't be seen as the King of the Seven Seas when he makes his first appearance on "Justice League" this coming November.
Momoa also said that viewers might be surprised with the storyline because Momoa's version of Aquaman will be conflicted about being an Atlantean in the beginning. He said viewers will have to be patient with this character's development.

"It may be tough for a lot of fans to watch what they're gonna see, how I portray him," Momoa said. "You have to wait until we get to the solo movie to really know because he's not king yet."
Essentially, Momoa revealed that Aquaman will only become the ruler of Atlantis at the end of his solo movie. His statement confirmed that the upcoming film will be an origin and perhaps not the most familiar to fans of the franchise.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros throws its support for its "Justice League" talent amid his rape joke controversy. The studio won't be removing Momoa's images in the promotional materials for the movie and he won't also be excluded from interviews.
The actor cracked the joke in 2011 while promoting "Game of Thrones" that resurfaced because of Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment allegations. Momoa posted an apology on his Instagram account for what he said was a tasteless and insensitive comment.
At that time Momoa said the comment about raping women, his character on "Game of Thrones," Khal Drogo, did rape his future wife, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Momoa, however, said that this rape scene was the most uncomfortable to shoot especially when her co-star had to act like she's in pain.
"Justice League" will be out in theaters on Nov. 17. It also stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).
