'Archer' Series News: Season 7 To Premiere March 31
The long wait will finally be over for the fans of the animated series "Archer" as the season seven premiere of the show has already been announced and it's happening on March 31.
This bit of news has been reported by Screen Crush.
Another report by Uproxx said that the season six finale of the celebrated Fox animated series bodes well of what's going to happen in its next season. In its seventh season teaser, which has already been uploaded on YouTube, Sterling Archer and company can be seen traveling to Hollywood in their search for the next mission.
The series also compensated for a late year-start by coming up with a shot-for-shot spoof of Tom Selleck's classic TV series, Magnum P.I., in its recent opening credits, which was interpreted by many as more of a tribute rather than a spoof. However, for many loyal fans of "Archer," this is not the first time for the series to pay homage to Selleck.
In its "Placebo Effect" episode during its season two run, the series also featured a scene from "Magnum P.I.'s" "Did You See the Sun Rise" episode, which was considered to be one of the show's darkest episodes as Magnum murdered a Russian colonel.
Screen Crush has, likewise, reported that "Archer" season seven will see the return of Selleck in the series. In addition, comedian Patton Oswalt will be guesting as a lawyer. Meanwhile, Keegan Michael Key and J.K. Simmons are also set to lend their presence to the show as "odd couple" investigators. Christian Slater, Jon Daly, and Jon Glaser are said to be returning to the show too.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast, "Archer" creator Adam Reed has said that the characters in the seventh season of the series will evolve from spies to high-caliber detectives.
"I was just trying to give a clean break from the past couple of seasons and L.A. seemed like a fun way to do that—and give our background painters a bunch of extra work that they probably didn't want," he said.
