'Are You the One' season 3 spoilers; surprising plot twist called 'blackout'

MTV's "Are You the One" is coming back with an all-new season. The show is part dating competition and part matchmaking experiment. It has a surprising twist.

The show revolves around 20 single men and women who will fly off to the beautiful tropical island of Hawaii where they will hopefully find the one as deemed by science. Everyone will split the $1 million, if any of them can discover the 10 pairs within 10 tries. However, there is a really shocking game-changing twist. Anyone who fails to identify at least one compatible couple during a "blackout" game will be penalized with a loss of $250,000 and that will affect the entire group. So, the group could lose the jackpot prize before the show ends.

The cast of the new season are Amanda a 22-year-old from Colorado, Britni a 24-year-old from Georgia, Chelsey a 23-year-old from Florida, Hannah a 22-year-old from New York, Kayla a 22-year-old from Connecticut, Kirsten "Kiki" a 24-year-old from Virginia, Kristyn "Cheyenne" a 22-year-old from California, Melanie a 23-year-old also from New York, Rashida another 23-year-old from South Carolina, and Stacey a 24-year-old from New York, as well. On the other hand, the guys are Alec a 22-year-old from Pennsylvania, Austin another 22-year-old from Texas, Chuck a 26-year-old from Hawaii, Connor a 25-year-old from Illinois, Devin a 26-year-old from Massachusetts, Hunter a 22-year-old from Florida, Mike a 24-year-old from New York, Nelson another 26-year-old also from Texas, Tyler a 25-year-old from Indiana, and Zak another 26-year-old from Canada.

In the previous season, there was also a plot twist as an 11th girl was introduced, nonetheless the group still managed to win the $1 million jackpot prize in the end. The show promises some more crazy moments.

Are You the One premieres on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 11 pm.
