Since that defeat in October 2011 against Venezuela, Argentina has gone on to win six times with three draws with one of those victories coming against Colombia.

The two-time World Cup winners now sit comfortably atop of the group, four points clear of second place Ecuador and five above Colombia, although Jose Pekerman and Colombia could change that with a positive result.

Argentina will have to find a replacement for is Fernando Gago, who will be unable to resume his partnership with Javier Mascherano in the middle due to injury. Gago suffered numerous injuries this past year and will likely be replaced with Lucas Biglia.

Lionel Messi's availability is still in question even though the Barcelona star was included in the squad and reports from Argentina suggest that he will be fit to take the captain's armband against Colombia.

Yet questions still remain given he missed the final two games with Barcelona to recover from injury. Coach Alejandro Sabella has yet to announce who would start in his stead if Messi was unable to play.

Jose Pekerman is expected to make several changes from the team that was defeated last their last qualifying match against Venezuela.

In a possible attacking line-up, Cruz Azul striker Teo Gutierrez will play for Macnelly Torres in order to partner with Radamel Falcao up front, while Carlos Sanchez could also enter for Edwin Valencia in the middle.

Kick-off for the match is at 5:55 p.m. ET and can be watched online here.
