'Ark: Survival Evolved': More Bonuses Promised in Valentine's Day PC Update
Two new sets of patches for the PC are scheduled to be released for Studio Wildcard's upcoming open world action-adventure survival video game, "Ark: Survival Evolved," this February.
According to Survive the Ark, the first update, the V254.93, was scheduled for Feb. 12 and features huge bonuses just in time for Valentine's Day. Just like with the current version, gamers can expect a lot of mating from the dinos and more chances of boxes of chocolates being dropped. This is good news since the chocolates can be used to fully heal or to increase a Taming Dino's bar by about 50 percent. New facial and head hairstyles as well as emotes for both male and female dinos will also be available.
Exciting changes will also be visible with regards to the dino hair, especially when the dino is underwater. The developers have also promised that there is going to be noticeably less lags on inventory menus.
Meanwhile, the V255 update that is set for Feb. 20 will reportedly introduce four new dinos – the Electrophorus, Microraptor, Ammonite and Thylacoleo. Gamers can also expect a new mechanic on Tek underwater bases and several new structures for tileset and doors, as well as for the power and shield generators. By acquiring Explorer Notes, a player can also pick four new head and facial hairstyles.
Recently, Studio Wildcard announced that they have set a new record when more than 100,000 people were noted to be playing the game via Steam. Co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz (via PlayStation Lifestyle) also noted that they recorded about 65,000 and 50,000 gamers for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively.
"ARK: Survival Evolved" is reportedly the 11th best-selling PS4 game in Europe. When it was digitally released in December, it ranked number one not only in European PlayStation stores, but in North America as well. The game's retail version is expected to be released this spring.
