'Ark: Survival Evolved' v256 Update UI Redesign Launch
The "Ark: Survival Evolved" v256 update is set to launch this Thursday, March 30, and Ark fans cannot wait to get their hands on the new update. The reason? Studio Wildcard is finally releasing the long-awaited total Inventory Menu redesign that players have been clamoring for.
Studio Wildcard's co-founder and "Ark's" lead designer and lead programmer Jeremy Stieglitz has just given fans a sneak peek at the new "Ark: Survival Evolved" Inventory Menu. The new menu looks more streamlined and clearer with its new translucent blue scheme with minimal styling. New tabs have been added to organize the sections better, and text and information have been mostly neatly tucked away in new context menus.
While the new update has been set at March 30, it won't be surprising if Studio Wildcard pushes back the date, according to the International Business Times. After all, the game developers have been known to take their time to carefully craft and test new functionality, sometimes at the expense of faster delivery dates.
The article from PC Gamer agrees, noting how the upcoming update has been long overdue. The new Inventory User Interface (UI) update will be much welcomed by players when it launches, however, so the wait will be well worth it.
Other new content will also be launching alongside the Inventory Menu redesign. A new game mechanic is coming, called Aquatic & Amphibious Creature Breeding — presumably, this allows players to cultivate and breed fish and other water creatures in the game. New dinosaurs are coming in the pipeline, and players can look forward to the Equus, Leedsichthys, Ichthyornis and Iguanodon making their way to the game.
Several new structures will also make it into the update, including the TEK Teleporter, TEK Mosa Saddle and Tek Power Generator. A new skill mechanic will allow players to maintain these new structures called Tek Underwater Bases.
