'Arrow' and 'Flash' New CW TV Series News, Plot Latest: Superheroes Team Up

A new superhero team is coming to television in 2015, according to network executives at The CW. The new series is said to be a spin-off of two of CW's successful TV series, "Arrow" and "The Flash," and would feature "secondary" hero and villain characters from both series.

The project is currently untitled but reports say that it will feature The Atom, also known as scientist Ray Palmer in "Arrow," Captain Cold or Leonard Snart in "The Flash" and Firestorm or Martin Stein also from "The Flash." The new series will also feature DC comics superhero characters, who have "never been shown on TV before."

Confirmed cast members for the spin-off include Brandon Routh as The Atom, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Victor Garber as Firestorm. Caity Lotz, who played the Black Canary in "Arrow" before her character was killed off, may also join the new show for a yet undetermined character.

It was also reported that DC comics fans are already speculating on who the other superheroes are. According to a report in the website Comic Book.com, the likes of Vibe or Cisco Ramon, who is currently one of the characters in "The Flash" but without his superpowers yet is a likely candidate. Another one is that of Killer Frost, who is also part of "The Flash" cast as Caitlyn Snow, but is also without her powers yet. The others mentioned are Captain Atom, Starman, The Question and S.T.R.I.P.E.

The new project has Flash/Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim behind the wheel.

"Arrow" premiered on CW in October 2012 and is currently on its third season. "The Flash" is a relatively new series which premiered in the network in October 2014. Both series have a "shared universe" based on what the CW network developed.
