'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers: Oliver Queen Not Dead? Vertigo and Black Canary to Return
Fans of "Arrow" were shocked with the show's midseason finale as Oliver battled it out with Ra's Al Ghul on a sacred battle ground high up on a mountain, and the fight ending with Oliver getting stabbed with a sword, and Ra's kicking him over a cliff. Many viewers were devastated as this appeared to be the end of the Arrow, and some expressed concerns as to how the series will continue without its lead character.
However, according to E! News, some fans in Canada have confirmed that Oliver (Stephen Amell) will be appearing in the show when the season returns on January, as Stephen Amell has been spotted filming scenes while wearing a wig. Willa Holland was also seen dressed in a private school outfit, and it was reported that Holland is playing a young Thea Queen in flashback episodes. But for now, it is unclear whether Oliver is really alive or if his reemergence will be in the form of flashbacks.
One theory that Arrow comic book aficionados cite that can possibly bring back Oliver is if there will be a Lazarus pit featured in the show. In the comic books, it was Ra's Al Ghul who discovered the pit, which is actually a pool of restorative chemicals that can bring a body to life.

Meanwhile, E! Online reports that the rest of team Arrow—Felicity, Roy and Diggle—will have to do the best they can without Arrow for the first few episodes. It has also been confirmed that Peter Stormare will be back to reprise his role as Vertigo, and Caity Lotz will also be returning to play the Black Canary.
"Arrow" is set to return on Jan. 21 with a brand new episode titled "Left Behind" on The CW.
