'Arrow' Season 4 Plot News: A New Oliver Will Be Seen

A lot of new changes will be seen in the fourth season of the hit series "Arrow."

The showrunners of the series, Wendy Mericle and Marc Guggenheim, recently shared details about the upcoming season, which will soon premiere. The two shared that the season will bring new elements to the series. One of these new changes will be Oliver Queen's costume and identity. The season to come will reportedly see him transform into the Green Lantern.

The first three seasons portrayed Oliver as a soldier coming back from war, which explained his PTSD. However, the previous season saw him in a happier place, especially in his relationship with Felicity. This is expected to shape the way he approaches his missions, which will reportedly bring a new side to Oliver.

With that, a new villain will also appear to bring trouble to the newly established hero. Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, is expected to join the story. His involvement in the season will bring a new vibe into the story. Mericle said, "Neal brings a very different energy and a very sort of — it's both grounded and supremely confident. Malcolm Merlyn was a very confident villain but Malcolm was vulnerable and has suffered loss. Damian doesn't have those vulnerabilities."

However, the season will also bring new allies for Oliver. It was reported that Curtis Holt, also known as Mr. Terrific, will be helping Oliver in the episodes to come. The character will be played by Echo Kellum. Mericle stated that his character will lead more humor into the series, but he will not be the only one spreading human into the show. It was said that even Oliver himself will bring a lighter side to the series.

Mericle stated, "The humor. There's a little bit more humor - and coming from Oliver as well. Stephen [Amell] plays a great straight man. He's really good at that stuff."

"Arrow" season 4 will premiere on The CW this Oct. 7.
