'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers, Plot News: Matt Ryan's John Constantine to Visit Starling City
Despite the protest and the pleadings of fans, NBC's hit supernatural drama TV series "Constantine" was ultimately cancelled from airing and won't probably be returning anytime soon. However, good news arrived this week saying that its lead character actor will still be getting some sweet screen time.
It was revealed during the CW's panel at the Television Critic's Association's semi-annual press tour in Beverly Hills, California, this week, that actor Matt Ryan will be reprising his titular role from "Constantine" for a special episode on the upcoming season of the network's hit superhero drama TV series "Arrow."
The renowned occult detective will appear particularly during the fifth episode of the show's fourth season, titled "Haunted."
The network teased that he will be providing "critical support to Oliver [Stephen Amell] when arrows aren't enough."
CW boss Mark Pedowitz teased another exciting thing to look forward in this episode. He said that this segment will see "a character getting resurrected."
"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. "Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired."
"The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW's DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series," the showrunner continued.
Of course, who could be happier about the news than the actor himself, who recently went to his social media to post an update for his fans.
"The Trench Coat is being dusted off … looking forward to it," Ryan tweeted.
"Arrow" Season 4 premieres Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
