Ashlee Simpson Divorce Finalized; Star Split From Pete Wentz Complete
Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson have finalized their divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” in a suit that was filed in February of this year.
Pete Wentz reached mainstream success with his prior hit song “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” as a member of Fall Out Boy, which announced a hiatus in 2009.
Wentz formed a new electro-pop experiment in 2010 labeled Black Cards, which has been on tour over the past year. He also introduced the record label Decaydance that has signed bands like Cobra Starship, The Ready Set, and Panic! at the Disco.
Wentz and Simpson were married May 17, 2008 in a California wedding on the Simpson’s premises. Ashlee Simpson and her sister Jessica Simpson, launched a new fashion line in December intended to mix the two girls style of classy and rock and roll, which will be aimed at young girls.
Ashlee Simpson became well known after her debut album Autobiography hit Billboard top charts in 2004.
Details of the divorce and custody arrangements of their three-year-old son Bronx were not released. In February, Simspon was seeking joint custody, and primary physical custody in addition to spousal support. Wentz commented on his Twitter account that Simpson was a “good moma and so much more.”
