Ashley Judd for Senate in 2014? Actress Denies All Claims of Running
Actress Ashley Judd has been an outspoken activist at times, and that has led for call for Judd to run for the United States Senate in 2014. The actress, however, has politely denied all calls for her to run.
"I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I'm very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let's focus on coming together to keep moving America's families, and especially our kids, forward," Judd told Us Weekly on Wednesday.
The passionate actress has worked with organizations including Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, the Animal Legal Defense Fund, and Population Services International. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Public Administration, showing that she knows how to work for her causes.

Local politicians were hopeful that Judd would be willing to take on incumbent Republican Senator Mitch McConnell.
"If you had an Ashley Judd-McConnell race, I think it would be as high-profile a race as [Massachusetts'] Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown," Rep. John Yarmuth of Kentucky told The Courier-Journal.
Yet Judd has not expressed any interest in running for political office. Right now she is too busy with her own passions, causes, and of course, acting career. She most recently starred in "Dolphin Tale" and the TV series, "Missing." Her upcoming projects include "Olympus Has Fallen" and "The Identical," which are due out next year.
In response to the claim that Judd may run for Senate, McConnell issued the following statement.
"Senator McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd's movies and appreciate her energy, particularly when it comes to getting young people engaged in the political process," his campaign manager, Jesse Benton, told Us Weekly.
"Well educated, articulate, and above all, loves Kentucky," said Us Weekly reader Virginia. There are those, however, who do not want to see Judd run and feel she has no place in the political realm.
"I am from Kentucky, and I wouldn't vote for or support this woman no matter what!" submitted TJ.
Only time will tell if Judd will reconsider her option and join the 2014 race.
