Assassin's Creed Liberation HD Remake Announced for Xbox Live Arcade

Today video game developer Ubisoft announced via Twitter that Assassin's Creed Liberation HD will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade on January 15 2014.

"We're pleased to confirm the XBLA release date of Assassin's Creed Liberation HD will be the 15th January 2014," Ubisoft UK posted.

Liberation originally came out for the PS Vita in 2012. It will also be coming to the PS3 and PC on Jan 14 for $19.99, reported Polygon.

The differences in the new updated HD version are not vast, but Ubisoft managed to improve the graphics and missions.

Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, will be getting its own mobile spin-off on iOS and Android on Dec. 5 with Assassin's Creed Pirates.

The game will sell for $4.99 on both platforms, as the game will focus on what Ubisoft describes as "brutal naval combat," according to Kotaku.

The console version of the game focuses on the character Edward Kenway while the lead of the upcoming mobile game is Alonzo Batilla. The game was officially announced in September to be the companion to further push along the main console story.

Currently Ubisoft is also working to make Assassin's Creed 4 for the PC the best game possible.

"We are very proud of the PC version of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag," said Sylvain Trottier, the Associate Producer of the game on Ubisoft's blog. "The game runs well on low-end PCs, and lots of additional features were added for higher-end machines, allowing each and every customer to fully enjoy the experience on their PCs. Our partnership with Nvidia that saw our respective engineering teams work together to develop a highly optimized PC version also demonstrates our commitment to the platform."

Trottier cites that the PC platform is something that will work best for the team because every developer works behind a PC, and console versions of games begin their life on the computer. Also, with the Xbox One and PS4 so advanced, they are almost on par with the PC already.

The PC version of the game launched on the 19th in the U.S. and in Europe on the 22nd. The game previously launched for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on Oct. 29.
