'Assassin's Creed: Origins' News: Devs Moving Away From Featuring 'Floating Collectibles'

Players can expect to find different kinds of useful loot instead

Developers are looking to do what they can to make exploring the ancient Egyptian setting included in "Assassin's Creed: Origins" a fun experience, and one of the ways they are doing so is through not saddling players with meaningless tasks.

Some previous installments of the franchise are unfortunately guilty of requiring players to walk around and collect items that had no real significance. Things are expected to be different in the upcoming installment, however.

Speaking recently to GamesMaster magazine, director Ashraf Ismail indicated that the new game is not going to feature those so-called "floating collectibles," Gamingbolt reported.

Ismail shared that he and the other developers want the world of "Origins" to feature things that have meaning. As players go through ancient Egypt, they should find different items or even just people that will add more meaning to their playthroughs.

Now, for prospective players who may be worried that there is not enough content in the world of the game, that is apparently not the case.

PC Gamer's Shaun Prescott was recently able to try out "Assassin's Creed: Origins" and that quick play session yielded some interesting details.

According to Prescott, "there's a whole loot grind aspect to look forward to." The new game will reportedly feature different kinds of loot, including items that should prove to be helpful in battle.

Pieces of loot vary in terms of rarity, and they may also be able to provide players with different kinds of bonuses. Collecting all the pieces of loot available in the game will likely take plenty of time, but it figures to be something players can do for a while that will also end up benefiting them.

More news about the new features included in "Assassin's Creed: Origins" should be made available soon and the game itself is due out on Oct. 27.
