'Assassin's Creed: Origins' News: New Gameplay Trailer Reveals Main Antagonist

First showcased during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), "Assassin's Creed: Origins" has managed to capture the attention of the gaming community mainly because of the unusual setting that deviates from those seen in the previous installments of the series. Recent reports have revealed that publisher Ubisoft seems to be intent on keeping the hype up as they have revealed a new trailer for the game title.

The trailer still holds little information on Bayek, who will be the protagonist of "Assassin's Creed: Origins." The gameplay only sees him fighting against the antagonists of the campaign, which has been identified as the Order of Ancients. Developed by Ubisoft, "Assassin's Creed: Origins" is intent on bringing the players back to a time when there were no Templars. Instead, the gaming community is brought back to a Roman setting where Bayek is seen battling legionnaires.

Meanwhile, the plot of "Assassin's Creed: Origins" is focused on the Order of the Ancients, who are seen to be wearing elaborately designed metal masks to hide their identity. They are identified as the true force behind Egypt's Pharaoh, and that they seek the power equivalent to ancient gods.

The upcoming action and adventure video game has yet to give further details on Bayek. However, considering it looks like it is to be the full origin story of the entire "Assassin's Creed" universe, fans can expect to have more details ahead of the release date.

Aside from the antagonists and the protagonists, the gameplay trailer also featured non-player characters (NPC) playing a vital part in adding a sense of urgency and danger as they are seen to panic as the Order of the Ancients make their rounds.

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" is slotted to hit the stands on Oct. 27. It will be available for Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One, and PC.
