'Assassin's Creed Origins' News: PC Specs Requirements Revealed Ahead of Oct. 27 Launch

The "Assassin's Creed" series steps back into the history of the brotherhood, with this year's installment going back to Ancient Egypt. This October, fans can see how Ubisoft and "Assassin's Creed Origins" can take players back after the less than stellar "Assassin's Creed Unity."

This will be the first "Assassin's Creed" major title in two years, with Ubisoft sitting 2016 out to take a break from the annual release cycle of the blockbuster franchise, as Tech Radar notes. After the hiatus, during which the studio only put out two episodes of "Assassin's Creed Chronicles," fans are clamoring for another major release.

Ubisoft is delivering ahead of the holidays, with "Assassin's Creed Origins" coming out next Friday, Oct. 27.

PC players have always made up a major segment of "Assassin's Creed" fans, and this time, Ubisoft is playing close attention to them. Compared to the requirements of "Assassin's Creed Unity," this new release promises to be more optimized for the PC in the same way that Ubisoft made "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" efficient for a wide range of PC builds.

Jose Araiza, the coordinating producer on "Assassin's Creed Origins," noted how the PC version was its own thing from the onset of the project. "The PC version was developed in parallel with all the other versions by the main team in Montreal, in collaboration with our PC-dedicated team in Ubisoft Kiev," he explained.

"This approach was adopted while the game features were being designed, making PC and mouse-and-keyboard controls a full part of the equation from the get-go," he added, as quoted by Gamespot.

As such, the game will happily run on a GeForce GTX 660 or an R9 270, with 2 GB of video memory. The complete specs can be found here.

The video below was the first trailer released for "Assassin's Creed Origins," and was shown during this year's E3 earlier June. The game will be out on Friday, Oct. 27, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
