The game was officially announced in September to be the companion to further push along the main console story.

Currently Ubisoft is also working to make Assassin's Creed 4 for the PC the best game possible.

"We are very proud of the PC version of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag," said Sylvain Trottier, the Associate Producer of the game on Ubisoft's blog. "The game runs well on low-end PCs, and lots of additional features were added for higher-end machines, allowing each and every customer to fully enjoy the experience on their PCs. Our partnership with Nvidia that saw our respective engineering teams work together to develop a highly optimized PC version also demonstrates our commitment to the platform."

Trottier cites that the PC platform is something that will work best for the team because every developer works behind a PC, and console versions of games begin their life on the computer. Also, with the Xbox One and PS4 so advanced, they are almost on par with the PC already.

The PC version of the game launched on the 19th in the U.S. and in Europe on the 22nd. The game previously launched for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on Oct. 29.
