'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' gameplay review: Deemed better than 'Unity', gameplay focuses on fun

An all-new 'Assassin's Creed' game is set to be released in the next few months and it appears that this sequel is a lot better than its predecessor. According to Jobs & Hire, "'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' was well received by many gamers compared with 'Assassin's Creed Unity'" which can be recalled to be a PR disaster for Ubisoft. Reviews have noted that updates were done to make it better than its predecessor.

In an article by Gaming Bolt, it noted that Ubisoft "managed to take advantage of newer technology" to create a substantial "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate." The game's programmers Ulrich Haar and Sebastian Aaltonen discussed the tech that was utilized, including the AnvilNext Engine. During the Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) 2015, the two explained how the engine enabled them "to push ten times more objects or instances than in previous 'Assassin's Creed' games." They also mentioned that in the very near future, the game will be working with more batch friendly data. They aim on making the DX12 a more effective tool in the games to follow.

Aside from being the most innovative to the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, the "Syndicate" game also aims to be a fun one. The long-running franchise is set in Victorian London, which is perfect for the ambience and enigma that surrounds the 1800's. The players will meet the brother and sister duo, Jacob and Evie Frye, which may be seen as a fresh new take for the franchise as its past previous title characters have all been somber and desponding.

The game will feature new and enhanced abilities including the ability to operate horse vehicles or carriages, which can also serve as a potential hiding spots and may also be used to attack. There will be a set of excellent new tools like the voltaic bomb that can electrocute enemies that stand in the player's way.

As noted in Hardcore Gamer, "Ubisoft has taken to the Industrial Revolution's aesthetic and added close, short knives and bare fists, combat to the mix. This installment will be utilizing the combat feature a lot more often considering the time frame as well as the people who inhabited London, (gangsters, traders, policemen, etc)." Guns will also play an essential role as using them may totally destroy the stealth element associated with the game.

Fans agree that after running dry and bland with the predecessors, there is actually something to be excited for with the release of the new "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." It will be released on Oct. 23 worldwide for the Sony Corporation's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Corporation's XBox One. The PC version is set to be released at the year's end.
