Assassin's Creed Unity Free Game Details: Agreement Included With Game
Assasin's Creed Unity Free Game comes with a pledge not to take legal action against Ubisoft.
Video game developer Ubisoft provided the Assassin's Creed Unity free game as a compensation for the troubled launch. The game was broken and Ubisoft received numerous complaints. The offer which is available until March 15, 2015 has the disclaimer:
"You hereby irrevocably and unconditionally RELEASE, WAIVE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Ubisoft Entertainment S.A., and each of its past, present and future divisions, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, predecessors, successors and assigns, together with all of their respective past, present and future employees, officers, shareholders, directors and agents."
The free game maybe a good compensation but according to reports the Xbox version still has problems. Xbox One owners who have applied the free game to their device are faced with a 40 GB download error when they attempt to use it.
To fix the bug, disc game owners must uninstall and reinstall the game and the patch will download effectively. Ubisoft has been informed about the problem and the company has issued an official statement.
Ubisoft wrote: "We have received and confirmed reports that some Xbox One players who have previously applied Patch 3 are seeing a 40GB download instead of the expected 6.7GB download.
"Unfortunately, an issue with the patch downloading process is replacing the entire game instead of just the parts affected by the patch. This is obviously not the expected behavior, and we apologize that many of you will have to wait longer than expected to complete this download."
The company said that they started to fix the error but failed to give out a fixed date
"We are working with Microsoft on a solution to reduce the total download to the intended size so that you can get back into the game faster, but as of now we have no ETA on when this will be resolved," Ubisoft added.
Assasin's Creed fans can only hope that the same problems will not occur as Ubisoft releases the Victory version probably next year.
