Asus Transformer Infinity Jelly Bean Update Released This Week

The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Jelly Bean update began rolling out this week.

The Android 4.1 update was released for the Transformer Prime tablet last week and it was delayed for the Infinity as they were originally expected to roll out at the same time.

The Android community reported that Jelly Bean is now ready to be installed on the Infinity and with it comes a slew of new features for the device including Google Now voice search, project butter UI enhancements, performance improvements, general stability improvements, and Google's Chrome browser.

The update comes OTA (over-the-air) and can be accessed by heading to Settings>About Tablet> and tapping Check for Updates to pull down the latest firmware directly from Asus.

The Asus Transformer Infinity features impressive specs including a 10-inch 1920 x 1200 truly 1080p HD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, front HD camera for video chat, and the option to use Asus' popular keyboard dock.

The Asus Transformer Prime Jelly Bean update is also available.

Once the update is performed, Transformer Prime users will no longer be able to use Adobe Flash, according to the Asus.

Other popular Android devices such as the Galaxy S3 have started receiving the update as well.

Samsung released a web page last week to keep Galaxy S3 owners updated on the status of the roll out of Android 4.1, JellyBean on the device.

The Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update began rolling out in Poland yesterday.

This is the first country to start receiving it and the rest of Europe should get it sometime in the near future.

The new firmware can be accessed OTA (over-the-air) or using Samsung KIES software. Samsung recommends that those performing the update use a Wi-Fi connection with at least 50 percent battery power.
