Asus ZenFone 3 Specs, Rumors: Could This Be Next-Gen Android Smartphone From Asus?
It has been a great year for Asus so far, especially considering the immense popularity of its ZenFone 2 smartphones. But while the smartphone models have not yet made their way to most markets worldwide, it seems the Taiwan-based manufacturer is already developing the next models.
According to a report from GSM Arena, an alleged ZenFone 3 smartphone has been spotted online, in Chinese certification website TENAA. There are no specific details showing that it is a member of the ZenFone 3 lineup, but the similarity in model numbers with the ZenFone 2 models is strong evidence.
In the report, the unknown Asus device has a model number Z00EDB, and boasts specs which resemble that of the ZE500CL.
Based on the TENAA listing, the smartphone packs a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, and an unknown chipset. Other features include a 16GB built-in memory with the option for expansion using the microSD card slot.
Rounding up the specs include an 8MP primary shooter at the back, a 5MP front or selfie camera, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. While the back camera is again similar to that of the ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, it does have a dual-tone LED flash and a new arrangement.
The device measures 143.7x71.5x10.7 mm and weighs 145g, and should be unveiled in the next few weeks.
