Asus Zenfone Go Specs News: Shows Up on Flipkart, Could It Be the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser?
Asus has just introduced a number of devices that bear the name Zenfone 2, probably to further expand the brand name of the lineup. However, an Indian retailer may have just leaked another device that has not been confirmed by Asus just yet.
According to a report by GSM Arena, a device named Asus Zenfone Go has appeared on India's biggest online retailer Flipkart in a sale page, although the product was listed as out of stock.
While Asus has not yet announced any device named Zenfone Go for India, it seems as if the device is actually the Zenfone 2 Laser, which the company unveiled several days ago.
Like the Zenfone 2 Laser, the Zenfone Go listed on the website has an 8MP primary camera, a dual-LED and dual-tone flash, and a laser focus, which makes taking pictures, and shooting videos much easier.
In addition, the listed device on Flipkart only has 2MP front camera as opposed to the 5MP of Zenfone 2 Laser, although it has dual-SIM capability with dual 4G LTE standby, and 2GB of RAM like the announce device. The Zenfone Go also has an option for either an 8GB built-in memory or a 16GB internal storage, although both variants can be expanded through the microSD card slot.
Rounding up the specs list shown on the Zenfone Go sales page is Android 5.1 Lollipop with Zen UI out of the box, and a MediaTek MT6580 chipset, which is a quad-core A7 chip. Interestingly, the chipset is the only major difference between the Zenfone Go and the Zenfone 2 Laser.
However, since the Indian market usually gets more affordable devices, Asus may have opted for the cheaper MediaTek SoC.
Still, all of these are mere speculations and rumors, so we better just wait for Asus to make an official announcement about the new smartphone.
