AT&T to Launch Mobile Share Plans: Customers Can Split Data Usage Across Devices

AT&T plans on launching its new Mobile Share Plans in late August that will allow customers to easily share data across smartphones, tablets and other devices.

These new plans will consist of customers paying one flat fee for data, and splitting it amongst all the devices linked to their account.

"We offer customers a broad choice and the best lineup of plans, now enhanced by Mobile Share," said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility. "With these new plans, the more you share, the more you save."

"They'll be a good fit for a variety of new and existing customers. But if customers want to stay on their current plan or choose from our existing plans, they can do that, too," he added.

AT&T is looking towards the future by offering these Mobile Share plans since the company feels that many new devices will be created that require data usage.

"Today we think of people's smartphones and tablets sharing a bucket of data. But in the future we'll see health care monitors, connected cars, security systems and other devices in the home all connected to the mobile internet," said Christopher.

The plans also give customers better control over how, where and on what device they use the most data on. Customers will be able to choose whether or not they want to tap into their shared data on devices they use occasionally. This will also help AT&T subscribers to take advantage of any data that is not being used.

All of these plans will also give customers' access to more than 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots for no additional charge. This seems to be a great deal for anyone planning on owning a tablet and a smartphone at the same time.
